Reviewer from Illinois Feb 22, 2010 Worked great for me! Yes, some of the parts are plastic and move a little, but you have to take your time and let the tools do the work. It has held up good for me.

plastic plate template is useless Sep 01, 2009 The plastic template should have been made of metal not cheap plastic which chips away under the router.
I had to chisel the old fashion way. How smart is it to pay for a useless template?
No way to use the smaller bore May 16, 2009 Had bought this a year ago -- but ended up buying a door in the frame. But figured we were all set when we went to hang just a door today. Opened the totally sealed Irwin kit package. Followed the instructions. Bored the hole for the knob without a problem. Went to use the small borer for the latch -- its threads don't match the drill bit supplied! We did everything we could think of. There is not a parts list. Was there supposed to be another bit? (We ended up having to improvise with a large drill bit, a narrow chisel, and a knife.) The kit wasn't expensive -- but it only half worked -- so wasted a lot of our time. Aggravating!
It did the job May 01, 2009 Its made of plastic so it did move alot. The lock depth adjustment kept slipping.

Very slick Feb 09, 2009 First of all, for the reviewer who said this would not work on a metal door, he is right. This one is for wood doors only. For me, it worked very well. I used it on a solid core exterior wood door and the job was perfect. Even the little router bit and jig for the bolt plate worked well, although I was very skeptical when I first saw it.
The only issue I had was the wood core got stuck in the bolt hole saw and needed to be tapped out using my vice to hold the bit. Not big thing and I'm sure it would happen every time you used it.
I couldn't even find anyone who rented the professional jig and this is far superior to using the paper template they send you with the typical lockset. No measuring, just slap this thing on the door and start drilling.
For $10 this is a bargain.
